• Provide legal representation, advice, or support for the organization as requested by clients
• Identify risks and issues, recommending solutions to solve complex legal problems
• Oversee or conduct legal research relevant to the scope of responsibility
• Collaborate with legal colleagues and business lines to develop and implement policy positions and strategies
• Supervise outside counsel activities and manage outside counsel spending

• Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Ten or more years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or other comparable legal setting
• Licensed and eligible to practice in a U.S. State
• Advanced knowledge of legal primary practice area (FERC regulation)
• Expert knowledge and skills with legal software systems (i.e., LEXIS and/or Westlaw)

• Fifteen or more years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or other comparable legal setting
• Transaction experience in wholesale energy, interconnection, transmission, and related matters
• Proficiency with general computer skills and Ameren competencies such as Think Customer and Drive Results
