- Provide comprehensive legal support to the global R&D function, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Advise on regulatory matters affecting R&D, including clinical trials and submissions to regulatory authorities
- Negotiate and draft various agreements related to R&D, ensuring compliance with legal standards and alignment with company goals
- Collaborate closely with other departments to provide integrated legal support and guidance
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing legal team
- 15+ years of relevant legal experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related life science matters, with 5+ years in-house at a biotech/pharma company
- A U.S. law degree (J.D.) and current “good standing” admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- Demonstrable mastery of human subject research protection laws and related regulations
- Significant experience with clinical development programs, data sharing arrangements, and complex research collaborations
- Proven knowledge of biotech law, regulatory requirements, and intellectual property issues in drug development
- Mandarin language skills
- Experience with AI and digital health
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience managing a legal team and providing strategic direction
- Aptitude and interest in learning the scientific/technical side of the business
