General Purpose of Job The Senior Account Director, Direct Marketing Integrated Agency is responsible for owning the growth, performance, and long‑term value of assigned client relationships. This role serves as the senior strategic lead across accounts—driving integrated direct marketing strategy, expanding scope and services, and ensuring Quad delivers measurable business impact.
The Senior Account Director leads cross‑functional teams across strategy, data, creative, production, and performance measurement, while acting as the primary senior client advisor and internal advocate. This role balances client leadership, revenue growth, and profitability, positioning Quad as a strategic growth partner—not simply a service provider.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role is accountable for managing revenue, margin, and long‑term growth across assigned accounts through the following responsibilities:
- Retain and strengthen core client relationships
- Expand account value through upsell, cross‑sell, and integrated DM solutions
- Improve profitability, contribution margin, and EBITDA
- Drive client business outcomes (customer growth, response, conversion, and brand performance)
- Increase Quad’s strategic equity and perceived value as an indispensable marketing partner
- Own and lead strategic account planning across assigned clients, including growth roadmaps, integrated DM strategies, retention and expansion targets, profitability optimization, and revenue forecasting.
- Serve as the senior point of view leader for clients on direct marketing strategy, testing, personalization, and performance optimization.
- Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships, positioning Quad as a trusted advisor across marketing, customer acquisition, retention, and performance improvement.
- Develop long‑term client partnerships that result in mutually beneficial, growth‑oriented relationships.
- Proactively identify, develop, and close growth opportunities within existing accounts, including expansion of direct mail programs, data and audience strategy, creative services, testing and optimization, and integrated channel activation.
- Lead the development of integrated direct marketing solutions that leverage Quad’s full portfolio of capabilities and align clients’ business goals.
- Own financial performance across assigned accounts, including staffing models, scope management, margin optimization, forecasting, and profitability management.
- Oversee the development of estimates and pricing for new and expanded work within established guidelines.
- Take a proactive role in improving workflow efficiency and job profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Account Directors, Account Managers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performing, growth‑oriented client programs.
- Ensure account teams provide strong client input and strategic clarity to internal partners.
- Ensure adherence to established processes and procedures to deliver work accurately, on time, and at a high level of quality.
- Ensure client satisfaction is measured not only by service quality, but by performance outcomes and business impact.
- Keep senior management informed of issues or opportunities that could impact client relationships or account performance.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of account team members.
