Job Description: Director of Safety Operations The Director of Safety Operations provides leadership for Bay Area Hospital's enterprise safety programs, overseeing Security Services, Emergency Preparedness, Environment of Care, Workplace Violence Prevention, Occupational Health, and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) programs. This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive organizational safety strategy that protects patients, visitors, medical staff, employees, volunteers, and hospital assets while promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Director serves as the organization's senior leader for physical security, emergency management, workplace violence prevention, Occupational Health, hazardous materials management, regulatory readiness, and Environment of Care oversight. Working collaboratively across all clinical and operational departments, this role ensures compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, Oregon OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards while strengthening organizational resilience and emergency preparedness.
The Director serves as the advisor during emergency incidents, chairs the Environment of Care Committee, chairs the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee, and partners with executive leadership to identify organizational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and improve enterprise-wide safety performance.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements Bay Area Hospital's enterprise safety strategy in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
- Provides leadership for Security Services, Emergency Preparedness, Environment of Care, and Workplace Violence Prevention.
- Serves as the advisor to Executive Leadership team regarding organizational safety, security, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk.
