Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Providing specialized care within the Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit, the RN is responsible for applying the nursing process to patient care, teaching patients and their families, and documenting clinical interventions. The role involves collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient management.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans in accordance with the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols.
• Educate patients and significant others on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient care.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and escalate concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 24 months of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting, specifically in IMCU, PCU, telemetry, or stepdown units.
• Current Oregon RN license or willingness to obtain one.
• Specific skills checklist relevant to IMCU/PCU nursing required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS (AHA) certification preferred but not mandatory at submission.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
