Registered Nurse (RN) – Float (Days)

Coos Bay, OR

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift

• Apply the nursing process within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing to deliver patient-centered care
• Float between the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU as assigned
• Educate patients and significant others regarding care plans, procedures, and health management
• Accurately document all patient care activities in the medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
• Respond effectively to patient crisis and emergency situations while maintaining consistent, punctual attendance

• Active Oregon RN license or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience (required)
• Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
• Ability and willingness to float to the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

• Experience working in a PCU or Intermediate Care setting
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, rapidly changing clinical environment
• Strong patient and family education skills

• Work within a comprehensive regional medical facility offering a broad range of specialty services serving patients of all ages
• Access to an on-site Employee Health Nurse Practitioner available exclusively to employees and their dependents
