Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, and replace tires on heavy equipment and semi-trucks.
  • Perform regular tire rotations, balancing, and alignments as required.
  • Monitor tire wear patterns, check for proper inflation, and identify potential tire safety hazards.
  • Operate tire-changing equipment, jacks, and other tools to replace and repair tires safely.
  • Maintain records of tire inventory, usage, and service performed.
  • Respond to on-site or in-field tire repair needs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to coordinate timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Perform Basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Complete basic shop cleanup as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience:

    1+ years of experience in Tire Technician or related field, preferably with heavy equipment and commercial vehicles.
  • Skills:

    Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to read and follow instructions, technical manuals, and diagrams. Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching continuously.
  • Manual dexterity is required for working with tools and parts.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
Summary

The Tire Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and replacing tires on heavy equipment, semi-trucks, and other vehicles within the lumber company. By maintaining tire integrity and conducting regular inspections, this role ensures all vehicles and machinery operate safely and efficiently.
