The OpportunityThe Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods within and outside the facility. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The manager will lead a team and collaborate cross-functionally to support production schedules, customer fulfillment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What Success Looks Like- Materials and products are delivered on time, safely, and efficiently.
- Inventory levels are accurate and managed effectively.
- Transportation and warehouse operations are cost-effective and optimized.
- Logistics processes meet regulatory and food safety standards.
- Manage receiving of raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Oversee order fulfillment, shipping schedules, and carrier performance.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Optimize transportation routes and costs.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels using ERP/WMS systems.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Lead warehouse layout optimization and material flow improvements.
- Supervise logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and drivers.
- Provide training on safety, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare logistics KPIs and reports for senior management.
- Support audits and traceability requirements.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of logistics experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite).
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and cold chain logistics.
- Experience with automation and warehouse robotics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
