The Opportunity

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Production operations including cost control and delivery performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience from the dietary supplement and/or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
Production Strategy & Operations
  • Lead the development, execution and monitoring of the Production strategy in line with the overall operational objectives.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  • Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets, policies and procedures.
  • Utilize available data including performance, line speed target, and efficiency and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability.
Employee Leadership & Development
  • Responsible for ensuring staffing aligns to business models to maximize operations.
  • Continually coach, direct and train employees utilizing Lean and Toal Productive Maintenance principles.
  • Monitor employees work performance and attitude and perform formal reviews as required
  • Ensure all production personnel are operating in compliance with production procedures as well as in compliance with all customer and governmental regulations.
Health & Safety
  • Partner with EHS to create a safety culture by promoting employee engagement, identifying risks, supporting incident investigations including implementation of corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to all EHS requirements.
Sanitation Oversight
  • Oversee sanitation activities within assigned production areas to ensure cleaning, housekeeping, and sanitation requirements are completed in accordance with company procedures, GMP standards, food safety requirements, and production needs.
Qualifications:

Experience & Education
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in dietary supplement and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing, Processing or Packaging industry experience with specific experience in food production.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements.
  • Experienced leading through change
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
