We are seeking a highly motivated and hands‑on Senior Accountant to join a growing, private equity‑backed professional and commercial services company. This role will be instrumental in building, refining, and executing core accounting processes for a rapidly growing company.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will take ownership of day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability of financial processes. This is a very hands‑on, process‑driven role designed to establish structure and discipline across the accounting function, ultimately freeing up the CFO to focus on strategic initiatives such as audit readiness, financial planning, and growth execution.
Compensation: $105-115K + Bonus

- Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances, providing clear insights to leadership
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
- Build, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance scalability and accuracy
- Establish a disciplined close calendar and enforce accountability across departments
- Support system enhancements or implementations as needed
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and cash management
- Ensure proper revenue recognition, job costing, and expense classification in a service‑based environment
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate project/job‑level financial tracking
- Prepare audit‑ready schedules and documentation to support external audit processes
- Assist the CFO in coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables
- Maintain compliance with lender reporting requirements and internal controls
- Serve as a key partner to the CFO, taking ownership of tactical accounting responsibilities
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to improve financial visibility and discipline
- Potentially supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as the company grows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in a private equity‑backed or high‑growth environment is highly preferred
- Background in construction, field services, or job‑costing environments (e.g., fire protection, HVAC, or similar) is a plus
- Proven ability to build and improve accounting processes in a hands‑on capacity
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate both tactically and strategically
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
