Senior Staff Accountant (Temporary Assignment)
Location Irving, Texas | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE- $45-$50 per hour (based on experience)
- Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Temporary assignment through November
- Start Date:

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting critical accounting operations during a high-impact period. This position ensures accuracy across lease accounting, inventory, and revenue streams while maintaining strong financial controls. Success in this role means delivering clean month-end closes, accurate reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting that leadership can trust.
Responsibilities- Manage ASC 842 lease accounting, including accurate tracking and reporting of lease activity
- Post and review rent activity to ensure proper recognition and compliance
- Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate cost tracking and valuation
- Perform store sales accounting and revenue reconciliations
- Handle property tax accounting and related entries
- Manage gift card program accounting and liability tracking
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
- Lead and support month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met
- Conduct detailed P&L reviews to identify variances and trends
- Prepare and post accruals and adjusting journal entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure strict adherence to debits and credits and overall GAAP compliance
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with general ledger, month‑end close, and reconciliations
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and GAAP principles
- Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
- Background in retail, multi‑location, or inventory‑driven environments
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
