Job Description & How to Apply Below

What You’ll Own

  • Direct the preparation and processing of weekly and semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state, multi-location workforce using ADP Workforce Now
  • Manage the Time & Attendance system — resolving timecard errors, auditing time reporting, and ensuring every hour worked is captured correctly before processing
  • Calculate pro-rata pay and administer special pay including stipends, commissions, bonuses, and prevailing wages with precision and consistency
The Compliance
  • Handle certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage administration — accurately, completely, and on schedule
  • Administer all deductions including benefits, garnishments, and 401K with a zero-tolerance standard for error
  • Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal payroll laws and maintain audit-ready payroll records at all times
  • Generate reports for data analysis and compliance verification — translating payroll data into clear, actionable documentation
The Partnership
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive resource for team members and managers with payroll questions — you resolve issues quickly and communicate clearly
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and branch operations to ensure payroll data integrity across all systems
  • Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll operations — you don't just process; you improve
Who You Are

You don’t round. You don’t estimate. You don’t submit until it’s right — because you understand that a payroll error isn’t just a number problem, it’s a people problem.

  • Detail-oriented to a professional standard — errors catch your eye before they reach a paycheck, and you correct them before anyone has to ask
  • Calm under pressure — payroll deadlines don’t move, and neither do you when it matters most
  • Technically proficient in ADP Workforce Now — required, not preferred. You know the system and you use it well.
  • Knowledgeable in the end-to-end payroll cycle: wages, bonuses, overtime, garnishments, deductions, commissions, and leave types
  • A clear communicator — you explain payroll processes and resolve discrepancies with patience and professionalism
  • Self-directed and reliable — you manage your deadlines, your queue, and your accuracy without needing oversight
Requirements Required
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll software — this is a firm requirement, not a preference
  • Demonstrated experience with Certified Payroll reporting and Prevailing Wage — candidates without this experience will not be considered
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state or multi-location environment
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements
Preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel for payroll reporting and data analysis
  • Experience with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems integration
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Stable, office-based environment with no travel requirement
  • A team that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous process improvement
  • Professional development and a clear path for growth within the STS function
