The Role:

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger accounting functions including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Lead or assist in closing activities to ensure timely completion of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Partner with operations to monitor inventory accuracy, investigate variances, and support forecasting, purchasing, and audit requirements.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances and key GL accounts.
  • Support internal financial reporting and variance analysis including cash flow across multiple entities.
  • Assist with audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax and annual reports in multiple states to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Receivable processing to ensure timely invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices to maintain and enforce internal control procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, MBA or CPA a plus
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with general ledger functions, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Treasury experience and knowledge of multi-entity or multi-currency accounting is a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle) and ERP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial compliance requirements
  • Experience in dynamic, high paced environments such as private equity backed companies and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
