Senior Field Office Manager​/Project Accountant; Coppell​/DFW Area, Texas - Austin Bridge & Road

Austin Bridge & Road (a division of Austin Industries, one of the nation’s largest construction companies) offers an opportunity for a Senior Field Office Manager/Project Accountant at our corporate headquarters in Coppell, Texas
. The Field Project Accountant will provide overall direction and control over the job site accounting, personnel functions and other administrative support required to support both the project staff and accounting.

• Reviews costs, quantity claiming, budget structure and exception reports and makes appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management.
• Ensures that all cost and cost adjustments are reviewed for accuracy to meet company standards and accounting rules.
• Identifies, adjusts, and reviews forecast and budget issues with the cost report to confirm proper recognition of cost and revenue.
• Demonstrates understanding of the accounts payable process workflow and is able to troubleshoot payment or vendor issues.
• Ensures the necessary backup documentation is on file before approving invoices for payment.
• Monitors the entire invoice system to ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are paid in a timely manner.
• Oversees field payroll functions for both hourly and salaried employees; ensuring that all hours worked are properly documented, coded, and reported.
• Performs a wide variety of related administrative support tasks at project field offices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 5 years accounting experience with 2 years in construction is preferred.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in project scheduling, change order management, and subcontractor coordination.
• Experience handling jobsite personnel functions, including hiring, onboarding, and safety compliance.
• Experience maintaining project filing systems and preparing reports for management.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Dependable and capable of working efficiently and independently in a professional setting.
• Effective communicator with strong customer service skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple priorities under stress.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment and meet deadlines.

• High School Diploma/GED or higher.
• 3+ years of experience managing payroll, invoicing, and project cost tracking in the construction industry.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work on call as needed.
• Travel to various North Texas project sites as needed.
