A growing manufacturing and distribution business in the DFW market is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join its leadership team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations, driving process improvements, and making a genuine commercial impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role offers significant ownership and visibility, working closely with senior leadership to strengthen financial controls, improve profitability, and support the next phase of the company's growth.
The OpportunityReporting directly to senior leadership, you'll take ownership of the company's accounting function while partnering closely with operations and supply chain to ensure the business is well-positioned for continued growth.
This is far more than a traditional month-end Controller role. You'll play a key role in improving operational performance, enhancing financial processes, and providing meaningful commercial insight across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, AP, AR and payroll.
- Own the month-end and year-end close process.
- Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and GAAP compliance.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
- Manage cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation and purchase price variance (PPV) analysis.
- Partner closely with manufacturing, operations and supply chain to improve margins and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Coordinate external audits, tax compliance and financial reporting requirements.
- Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across the finance function.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong experience in:
- Cost accounting
- Standard costing
- Inventory accounting
- Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational decision-making.
