Operations Manager
About the Role
Operations Manager who is proactive, enjoys solving problems, and formulates ideas to make a difference for the company. This role requires strong management and analytical problem‑solving skills to drive operational excellence.
How you will contribute
- Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
- Interface with customers to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provide input on local conditions, identify needs, and receive direction on real‑time staffing adjustments.
- Enact contingency plans as needed; escape and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, and coordinate with local and senior management for post‑mortem analysis and process improvement.
- Review ongoing performance results against targets; take corrective measures with authorization and, if necessary, escalated actions.
- Provide effective leadership to Warehouse Managers and/or teams, enforce company standards, and act as a role model.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Progressive experience performing professional‑level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write documents using original or innovative techniques or style; make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
