Your Next Opportunity

The BIM Modeler III is responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This is a leader of the production team that will create most of the drawings for a project and typically functions as a Model Manager. The role involves efficiently taking part in and supervising modeling and documenting the project.

What You'll Do
  • Work with the Family Development Team for revised standards or the specific needs of a project.
  • Create project‑specific families for projects they are leading.
  • Lead and supervise modeling and documenting a project.
  • Schedule and assign work to meet project deliverable dates.
  • Clean and purge background drawings/models for use in the REI model.
  • Create Rosendin Revit models using backgrounds from other trades.
  • Work with project Coordinators and Detailers.
  • Supervise the layout and input of marked‑up drawings into Revit in accordance with REI Standards.
  • Back‑check others' work for accuracy before passing it on to the project team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and abide by nondisclosure agreements, protecting proprietary and company intellectual property.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.
What You Bring to Us
  • Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols and drafting conventions and standards.
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience accepted.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • Advanced working knowledge of the most current modeling applications software used by REI, including creating and manipulating Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and related functions.
  • Ability to give verbal and written direction and translate that into working design documents.
  • Complete understanding of REI BIM processes and procedures, including workflow processes.
  • Skills with creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, schedules, and complex geometry.
  • Fluency in the current version of Revit software employed by the Department.
  • Fluency in reading 2D plans electronically or on hard copy.
  • Comfortable working in 2D and 3D space.
  • Experience with Autodesk Navis Works and Autodesk Design Review.
  • Advanced knowledge of 3D layout and design.
  • Competence in posting and receiving documents on the design team’s platform.
  • Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in‑house or on‑site.
  • Ability to import spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
  • Strong proofreading, spelling, and editing skills without supervision.
  • Knowledge of creating Revit work sets and understanding of the work‑sharing process.
  • Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
  • Skills for setting up Revit models and leading model teams in modeling, annotating, project scheduling, assigning workloads, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with Oracle preferred.
