If you are interested in designing and developing complex power distribution systems for a hyper‑scale data‑center campus, have specialty in protection or automation control in power systems, possess experience in project management and vendor collaboration, and can create innovative and cost‑effective solutions, you’ll thrive  team designs, develops, manages, starts up, commissions, and completes projects from beginning to end in a turnkey style.

What

you’ll do
  • The ideal candidate would team up with others in the department to perform a mix of the following tasks:
  • Pre‑construction design and development of the complete power system, protection and control, and concept of operation.
  • Design and develop site‑wide electrical distribution Sequence of Operation that ensures system reliability and resiliency.
  • Coordinate with utility, turbine power plant, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or a combination of all three.
  • Specify, evaluate, and review vendor or manufacturer submittals and equipment to ensure conformity with system design requirements.
  • Conduct vendor coordination meetings to ensure all systems and equipment work well together.
  • Design and develop mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical interlock systems.
  • Work with other internal teams to specify proper relaying with proper instrument transformers to ensure secure and dependable operation.
  • Design and develop system‑wide automation systems using PLC or RTAC‑style industrial controllers.
  • Design and develop system wide automation including support for PLC or RTAC style industrial controllers, such as system overload prevention, multi‑purpose busway interlocks, load management systems, generator plant load curtailment systems, generator plant start and load controls, selective load pickup and load shed schemes, etc.
  • Design and develop relay protection and automation logics.
What you bring to us
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
  • One‑year on‑site field experience strongly encouraged.
  • Licensure as a US‑based Professional Engineer is required.
  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Self‑starting, avid learner of new technologies and products.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution systems, relaying, and automation systems.
  • It would be plus if the candidate possesses a mix of the following product knowledge on electrical power systems components such as emergency generators, transformers, switch gear, switchboards, automatic transfer switches, protective relays, UPS systems, DRUPS systems, motors, static transfer switches, PDUs, battery storage systems (BESS), inverters, PV systems, wind turbines, substation equipment, etc.
  • It would be plus if the candidate can understand power system studies and analyze TCCs.
  • Strong result‑driven attitude.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
