Position Summary
Engineering Team Lead – a management role responsible for providing technical engineering oversight and design team management for assigned engineering projects.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and project meeting minutes.
- Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned by the Head of Programs, including planning and coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring compliance with company/ project policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintain change order, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs; prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
- Create contract submittals that are accurate and timely for submission review.
- Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
- Create and timely deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Monitor the project quality control plan to ensure it is being followed, and identify documented issues for corrective action.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure the Warranty Log is up to date.
- Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
- Assume total project supervision responsibilities in the Program Manager's absence.
- Prepare price change orders, project reports and documentation, and work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
- Registration as a licensed US‑based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
- Field (startup, commissioning and troubleshooting) experience is strongly recommended.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
- Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Ability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and trade partners.
- Engineering processes and calculations including load calculations, equipment layout, normal and emergency standby distribution, HV/MV distribution, lighting layout, lighting calculations, power and lighting controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes and standards.
- Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems.
- Oversee Electrical System Studies such as Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations.
- Knowledge of electrical construction sufficient to understand how design packages will be built.
- Fluency with Building Codes and Local Codes of the project area.
- Travel: up to 25% (does not include local field visits).
- General work environment – sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions (fluorescent lighting, air conditioning). Noise level typically low to medium; may be loud on a job site. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
