Position: Senior Assignment Specialist

Overview

Senior Collateral Analyst – Dallas, TX
• Hybrid role

Calculated Hire is seeking a Senior Collateral Analyst to serve as a dedicated resource for a mortgage servicing client in Dallas. This role leads and manages a variety of collateral-related duties, with a strong emphasis on assignments of mortgage and document custodian workflow. The Senior Collateral Analyst will leverage knowledge of default servicing practices and collateral management to execute curative initiatives, oversee relationships with document custodians and vendors, and coordinate logistics for collateral workflows.

The position requires collaboration with the collateral management and asset management teams, performing reconciliations, identifying and implementing process improvements, and supporting operational enhancements. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of assignment of mortgage experience, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Familiarity with collateral management aspects and trading programs (including non-agency whole loan, agency whole loan, GNMA Buyout MSR, etc.)

is a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years assignment of mortgage experience
  • Knowledge of default servicing practices and document custodian workflow
  • Strong data manipulation skills through Excel (required)
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and add value to existing processes based on established work experience
  • Detail oriented with consistent high quality and accuracy in work; work product must be consistently reliable and accurate
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to recognize opportunities, understand risks, and act quickly to overcome obstacles
  • Familiarity with collateral management and varying collateral requirements across trading programs (non-agency whole loan, agency whole loan, GNMA Buyout MSR, etc.) preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the client’s collateral management team to fulfill collateral curative initiatives, including day-to-day operations and special projects as needed
  • Lead and manage the pipeline, workflow, and relationships of multiple document custodians and collateral vendors
  • Create, support, and manage collateral workflow in partnership with the client  Asset Management team
  • Coordinate logistics of the overall collateral workflow, including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying and implementing process improvement solutions
  • Perform regular reconciliations of open collateral tasks against document custodian and collateral vendor reports
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, servicers, and vendors to identify procedural changes and system enhancements; recommend and assist in implementing operational improvements
