Field Payroll Specialist

Job Overview

Field Payroll Specialist at Rosendin is responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. The role involves processing multiple weekly union and non‑union payrolls for more than 600 employees across several companies, supporting payroll requests, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Prioritize and process all timecards, corrections, and adjustments from field locations.
• Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of payroll checks to all site locations.
• Calculate and prepare manual layoff, termination, and adjustment checks.
• Process transfers to ensure checks print in the correct location and run transfer to GL.
• Maintain accurate control and distribution of payroll‑related reports and payments.
• Handle weekly costing and ENCE transfers for all payrolls.
• Update rate changes and process retro payments as required.
• Input over‑scale and special agreements, set up garnishments, and third‑party payments.
• Process terminations and provide credit union account setup and payments.
• Stay current on state and federal payroll regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist with payroll‑related month‑end closing activities and produce required reports for state, federal, union, and corporate reporting.
• Provide training to subordinates and act as a resource for payroll queries.

• Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years’ payroll experience, preferably with a union employer.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience with payroll software (Oracle preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time pressure.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
• Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
• Optional: formal financial/payroll/tax training or seminars.

General work environment involves sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying lighting and temperature. Noise levels are usually low to medium but can be louder on job sites. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required.
