Primary Function: The VP Investor Accounting ensures the accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of financial analysis for all loans within the servicing portfolio on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for investors. Investors include Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and other private label investors such as life insurance companies, real‑estate trusts, and securities firms that invest in mortgage bonds.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of PI/TI and clearing tests, including expected and bank reconciliations.
  • Partner with Financial Controls and Compliance to establish a sound control framework, detailed management reporting, and appropriate escalation processes to meet best practices and investor requirements.
  • Determine root causes and themes of outages; collaborate with upstream and downstream business units to reduce outages.
  • Work with Corporate Accounting on accounting projects, ensuring reserves and servicing losses are identified and reported accurately and timely.
  • Introduce and enhance automation routines, identify system enhancements, and partner with Analytics and IT teams for implementation.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, performance monitoring, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving complaints.
  • Review monthly remittance reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Resolve reporting issues with the trust, enforce policies, and ensure timely resolution of compliance‑related matters.
  • Develop routines to ensure REG AB, USAP, and investor audits are clean.
  • Provide general support for special projects, supplying information and resolving issues as required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 12+ years of private or GSE Investor Accounting experience required.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced MS Excel experience, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other complex formulas.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • SQL or other database reporting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Servicing Director functions is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships, learn quickly, be flexible, and think strategically.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior management and other business units.
  • Understanding of operational risks, related controls, and Reg‑AB and USAP guidelines.
