About the Role
At Newrez, the Deal Manager ensures the successful boarding or de‑boarding of loans in accordance with industry regulations and Shellpoint’s policies and procedures. The role coordinates all transfer related tasks to guarantee a timely and seamless transfer, providing transparency and reporting to relevant internal business units and external servicers.
Responsibilities- Maintain department organization and standards.
- Monitor and maintain stated key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory items such as Goodbye Letter, Welcome Letter, and Investor Change (404) Letter.
- Work with internal and external parties to establish a transfer timeline.
- Initiate and host routine conference calls with servicers to confirm critical due dates, review and explain transfer related documents, and coordinate question resolution.
- Manage completion of all transfer related tasks using heatmaps and checklists.
- Coordinate the exchange of information (preliminary data, final data, origination and servicing documents, invoices, transaction and comment history) between servicer and internal business units.
- Work closely with the Data Mapping and Validation Analysts to evaluate, understand and prioritize data exceptions.
- Assist the business units by providing transfer data and setting up department specific calls as needed.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide portfolio management or client weekly updates on current and upcoming transfers to increase transparency.
- Perform related duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2‑3 years of applicable mortgage servicing related experience (required).
- 2+ years of loan transfer experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SQL, with emphasis on Excel formulas and executing queries in SQL.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret loan data.
- Project management skills.
- Relationship management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast‑moving environment.
- Willingness to provide after‑hours or weekend support as required for projects or high business volume situations.
All employees are required to have smartphones that meet company security standards and must be able to install applications such as Microsoft Authenticator. Employment will be contingent on meeting this requirement.
