Overview

Sr. Network Engineer

Description:
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support a Cisco centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment, including routers, firewalls, security, wireless, LAN switching, and Nexus Data Center.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems.
- Maintain proper use of network monitoring systems.
- Implement and push firewall rules; configure LTM, F5 pool, etc.
- Run application performance and packet analysis using Wireshark.
- Support site-to-site VPNs and client VPN solutions.
- Work with emerging technologies such as SD-WAN or Data Center products.
- Generate clear and concise documentation in the form of case notes, knowledge base, and network diagrams.
- Assist with Voice over IP implementation and support.
- Follow proper change management processes and escalation procedures.
- Ensure customers receive prompt, accurate and courteous service.
- Engage vendors and carriers as required to assist in troubleshooting or implementation of network solutions.
- Assist in the development of documentation and SOPs for the department.
- Assist other team members with special projects and technology rollouts.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations if required and flexible for overnight and/or weekend activities.
- 8-10+ years experience required
- Firewall Administration - Security Management (IT IS)
- Network Engineer
- Expertise in Cisco WAN/LAN Technologies, Firewall and Security systems, Load Balancing and Data Center Networking.
- We perform: 8-10+ years experience (as listed) and related duties as described above.
- 8 10+ years of network engineering experience
- Expertise in Cisco WAN/LAN/WLAN technologies (routers, switches, Nexus Data Center)
- Firewall administration and security management experience
- F5 Load Balancer configuration (LTM, F5 pool)
- Experience with site-to-site VPNs and client VPN solutions
- Team Management, Working with customers Architects and Principal Engineer.
- This position is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WLAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and VoIP.
- Installation and maintenance of hardware, software, troubleshooting and security.
- Provide high-level technical support for data network systems, creates, and maintains network documentation.
- Versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
- This position requires excellent troubleshooting, problem management and customer service skills.
