Description
Barcel USA is looking for a Power BI Specialist to join our growing technology team. The candidate must have professional experience converting data from a multitude of sources into meaningful measures and key performance indicators into interactive, intuitive dashboards, and reports. This position will serve as the Power BI platform subject matter expert. Must be proactive to find opportunities regarding delivering informative and value driven insights with proficiency in statistics and mathematics.
This position requires a high level of analytical expertise. The PBI Specialist is responsible for building, administering, and maintaining Power BI work spaces, reports, dashboards, and applications (25%), validating datasets (25%), collaborate with functional and technical teams to implement and improve data analytics to advance informed decision-making (30%), document data models, pipelines, processes, functionality, reports, dashboards, and solutions (15%), and training for Power BI on both dashboards, reports, and technical how-to(s) (5%).
Responsibilities
* Understand/develop business requirements, specifications, and design data models and transform processes to convert data into informative and accurate insights published through reports, dashboards, BI Applications, and other embedded delivery platforms with required functionality for multiple departments including but not limited to Sales, Forecasting, Supply Chain & Finance.
* Validate data, metrics, KPI against authoritative systems and stake holder expectations.
* Present and explain to users how to utilize reports, dashboards, applications and how the output is derived via data sources, transformations, logic, and filters.
* Identify KPIs, measures, and calculations that drive business and monitor them both for data delivery and notify functional team to act.
* Develop source & validation queries utilizing advanced to Intermediate SQL syntax.
* Develop well designed reports with clean intuitive interfaces.
* Promote and evolve the focus of BI analytics.
* Document data and processes including but not limited to algorithms, parameters, models, metrics, meta data, and transformations.
* Connecting and troubleshooting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business intelligence.
* Improving existing datasets & models, constructing new datasets/models that are easy to understand in order to promote the reusage of the data and facilitate the self-service analytics.
* Data & root cause analysis across a number of domains (sales/supply chain/accounting)/ at multiple dimensions and hierarchy levels.
* Maintain Security via Work spaces, managed dataset permissions, sensitivity labeling, data source/privacy settings and dynamic RLS.
* Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.
* Administer work spaces & user access to PBI applications/reports/models and build permissions
* Any other duties as assigned.
