Director - Data Platform

About the Role

In this role, you will direct software development, delivery, and support efforts of highly scalable and high performing technology solutions in an Agile work environment and produce and deliver code and/or test cases using Agile practices. You will provide leadership and direction to technical managers, architects, quality assurance engineers, developers and other technologists in resolving critical production issues to help simplify and improve business processes through the latest in technology and automation.

You are a technical expert and will lead through the requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, and support phases of a product. You will establish operational objectives and assignments for managers across related departments or functional units.

• Leads and influences the vision of the product by contributing to software design and architecture that result in high performing technology.
• Develops and enhances software to solve complex business problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of the company while keeping customer experience at the forefront.
• Leads and models a Dev Ops mindset by applying automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery in everything we do.
• Fosters innovation acting as a change agent to support business growth, reduce operational costs, and improve service levels by applying best practices and learning from emerging technologies.
• Provides engineering leadership, collaborating and influencing at senior levels.
• Works as a thought leader, contributing to the development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people in assignments of diverse scope.
• Leads and facilitates teams creating highly collaborative environments.

• Experience leading teams and establishing organizational goals aligned with product vision to achieve business success.
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to guide senior levels and cross functional teams both internal and external.
• Possesses deep technical knowledge and years of software development experience (large scale applications, continuous integration/delivery practices).
• Expert knowledge of complex software languages and platforms such as Java, Oracle, Azure, and emerging languages and trends.
• Strategic thought leader and problem solver capable of leading through others developing creative solutions.
