Overview

We are currently seeking a Director of Construction to join our growing team in Dallas, Texas! The Director of Construction is responsible for leading our construction efforts from strategy through new store openings and remodels. This key leadership role involves strategizing, planning, and executing construction initiatives to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality project completions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent project management skills, navigating building permit processes, and the ability to lead a team to success.

  • Lead the strategy and oversee execution of construction projects for corporate and primarily franchise stores, including new builds, tenant fit-outs, renovations, upgrades, and ground-up developments
  • Ensure delivery of branded elements and prototype standards in every store, collaborating with internal teams to align construction with brand mission, innovation, and guest experience.
  • Provide leadership to ensure project schedules are met, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, clearly communicating construction strategy to team members, franchisees, architects, and general contractors.
  • Lead communication and collaboration with key franchise partners.
  • Manage direct reports through ongoing feedback, weekly touch bases, performance evaluations, and coaching for development.
  • Oversee department operating budget to meet financial targets, and manage budgets for Cap Ex, facilities, special projects, and remodels.
  • Qualify and manage bid-review process and build schedules of approved contractors, consultants, and vendors; negotiate contracts with clear definitions of work responsibilities.
  • Monitor competitors, store innovations, and market dynamics to identify and implement forward-thinking design, construction, and value-engineering strategies.

  • Selected job-related travel to review projects on a needs / process basis
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, while possessing a can-do attitude.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required and a degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience overseeing design/build of commercial/ restaurant/QSR construction.
  • Strong engagement skills including relationship building, negotiating, and closing is required.
  • Qualified candidate with franchise development experience in multi-unit growth with a proven track record of success is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required, specifically Microsoft Excel.
