Overview
The Inbound Supervisor is responsible for leading and optimizing warehouse operations with a strong focus on performance, accuracy, and service level adherence
. This role is responsible for managing all inbound activities while driving key operational metrics such as dock-to-stock, receiving SLA compliance, labor productivity, and inventory accuracy
.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, hands-on, and comfortable holding teams accountable in a fast-paced 3PL environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily inbound operations including container and LTL/FTL receiving
- Plan labor based on inbound volume, shipment type (palletized vs floor-loaded), and SLA requirements
- Maintain and enforce receiving SLAs
, ensuring inventory is received, verified, and transacted within agreed timelines - Drive dock-to-stock performance
, ensuring inventory is available for fulfillment as quickly and accurately as possible - Monitor daily and weekly inbound KPIs (dock-to-stock, receiving accuracy, productivity, backlog)
- Lead performance management
, including productivity tracking, coaching, and corrective actions when needed - Partner with Inventory Control to ensure accurate counts, lot tracking, and proper system transactions
- Ensure inbound processes align with SOPs and customer requirements
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to improve speed, accuracy, and labor efficiency
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized dock and inbound work area (5S standards)
- Train and develop inbound associates and lead to support growth and scalability
- Communicate inbound status, risks, and performance results to Operations leadership
- 3+ years of inbound warehouse or supervisory experience (3PL or e-commerce preferred)
- Strong understanding of inbound metrics, SLAs, and warehouse performance management
- Experience managing labor and productivity in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable leading from the floor and holding teams accountable
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- WMS experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Lean Six Sigma certifications
- Bachelor's Degree (any credited university or college)
