Overview

Job Summary
:
The Inbound Operations Supervisor is a people leader that drives the successful execution of all receiving freight and stocking activities. Reporting to the Inbound Operations Manager, this role designs efficient and consistent methods to ensure loads are scheduled and received on time, relevant paperwork is reconciled, OS&Ds are filed, and sellable quality parts are stocked. The supervisor ensures inbound teams are properly sorting, stocking, and reconciling products, upholding a high standard of operational execution while fostering engagement, empowerment, and problem-solving among teammates.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and implement efficient inbound operations by instructing staff on tasks, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Design and maintain organization of inbound freight (scheduling and unloading), receiving dock, stocking activities, housekeeping, and related areas and protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to security and safety rules and regulations, providing a safe environment for employees across receiving, stocking, and customer return procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of budget and enforce cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
  • Lead warehouse associates, promoting engagement and empowerment to solve problems and make sound operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with other DC management to investigate and resolve receiving errors; address issues with the team to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Schedule team hours to ensure peak-period coverage and efficiency.
  • Protect company assets by ensuring equipment is used and maintained properly, opening and securing buildings daily, and monitoring receipt of merchandise.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of engagement and empowerment, mentor team members, and facilitate problem-solving and decision-making to drive operational success.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate processing of all new freight, supervise put-away procedures for incoming freight and customer returns.
  • Oversee daily reconciliation of received loads to ensure proper receiving of product.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 1+ year of experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
  • Ability to comply with safety requirements for job functions and general distribution center safety.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop cooperative working relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to use good judgment to follow detailed instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be capable of lifting/moving heavy items up to 60 lbs.
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
  • 1+ year of managerial experience and/or leading teams.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Diverse experience, especially in automotive or retail distribution centers.
  • Proven experience performing various quality functions (inspection, control, assurance, audits).
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Promapp, Power BI, Visio, and related tools.
  • Customer-centric mindset and ability to execute tasks effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for data, analysis, and providing simple insights.
  • Comfort influencing others, leading teams, managing stakeholders, securing buy-in, and communicating clearly.
  • Test-and-learn mindset and agile approach to improve team performance.
