Sewing Finishing Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sewing Finishing Operator plays a vital role in our production team, primarily responsible for operating commercial-grade sewing machines while also engaging in a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operations. This position involves managing the printing and finishing of orders in alignment with customer specifications and maintaining the production areas and equipment.

• Process and produce Digital and Signs & Graphics print/finish orders as directed.
• Operate Digital and Signs & Graphics printers, binding equipment, and other auxiliary tools, such as commercial sewing machines, heat presses, and laser cutters.
• Perform all phases of equipment setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, including cleaning and repairs.
• Deliver excellent customer service, including problem‑solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Produce work following LEAN manufacturing principles to achieve high‑quality results.
• Follow supervisor instructions and assist other team members as needed.
• Keep work area to 5S standards—clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High School diploma / GED / trade school certification or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in operating commercial sewing equipment.
• Experience with Fed Ex Office products & services is a plus.
• Prior experience in a commercial print and production environment is advantageous.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Able to stand for the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 55 pounds.
• Able to consistently bend and twist at the waist and knees.
• Skilled in communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Capable of performing duties requiring teamwork and instruction.
• Able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment under pressure.
• Capacity to maintain attention and focus for extended periods.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight.
