The Sample Room Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the sample room, ensuring accurate tracking, organization, and inventory of merchandise samples. This role supports cross-functional teams by processing vendor samples, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating the movement and return of merchandise.
Responsibilities Receive, open, and process incoming packages and merchandise samples as needed
Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy
Enter vendor invoices and sample information into the sample room database
Create item tags and check-out documentation for tracking sample usage
Transfer merchandise between the sample room, photo studio, and buying offices
Coordinate and process vendor sample returns, including packing and shipping
Prepare and ship outbound packages and other shipments as required
Participate in buyer cart inventories according to the annually established schedule
Conduct annual inventory of the entire sample room Generate and print inventory reports identifying missing items and coordinate chargebacks to brands for items that cannot be located
Maintain an organized, accurate, and efficient sample room environment
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to accurately process inventory and documentation
Basic computer skills and comfort working with databases or inventory systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to handle and move merchandise samples as required
