- Monday‑through‑Friday daytime hours

The Total Access Specialist / Senior Account Specialist will retain existing customer sales, drive gross margin growth, and secure new customers by managing a portfolio of accounts within their assigned “territory” in SAP. Business will be grown through proactive customer touch, effective negotiation, and deliberate territory planning using the company’s CRM system.
- Associate must hold safety as the utmost priority.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including annual Airgas University training on safety, IT security, antitrust, fraud avoidance, and related topics.
- Make proactive outbound telephone calls to maintain connections with existing customers and pursue new account opportunities; stay on the phone with customers about 40% of the day.
- Receive inbound customer calls and provide courteous, professional service.
- Control call paths through effective negotiation of fair pricing while protecting profitability.
- Attend all required training sessions to remain current on product knowledge, competitive information, sales skills, software updates, and new procedures; continue to enhance skills through self‑study and coaching.
- Use SAP to document sales quotes and orders; follow all prescribed procedures.
- Accommodate customer returns and credits as needed, working with the BSC Credit Department to keep accounts up‑to‑date.
- Use as a sales planning tool: log accurate contact information, capture competitor and industry data, manage key opportunities for retention and growth, and document risk or lost business cases.
- Leverage e‑market capabilities, , marketing materials, and the Field Specialist Network when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers to refine call techniques through self‑monitoring.
- Strategize on budgeting and territory planning.
- Assist in training or mentoring peers upon request.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Prior sales experience or customer service at Airgas preferred.
- Strong self‑motivation.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Occasional travel required.
- College degree preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial distribution, PPE, welding and gases preferred.
