A freight forwarding company is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team in the Coppell, TX area. This position is responsible for providing operational and pricing support for surface transportation projects within the USA and cross-border logistics in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Additionally, the Logistics Coordinator provides guidance to local branch Surface Logistics Agents regarding pricing, procurement, and day-to-day operations.
** This is a full-time, non-exempt, onsite position with comprehensive benefits package.
- Responsible for the smooth movement of assigned OTR shipments including booking cost effective trailers, tracking shipment, updating in-transit shipments, and closing/rating shipments on a daily basis.
- Provide competitive pricing, outstanding customer service, and efficient operational support for surface transportation within the USA and cross-border logistics support for USA, Mexico, and Canadian freight.
- Provide quotes for assigned customers and sales teams as requested, and assist with pricing new business projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist Department employees in the generation of various weekly and monthly reports, including month end billing if necessary.
- Provide back up support within department during busy periods, vacations and unexpected employee absences.
- Generally support surface logistics projects through pricing, A-to-Z freight coordination, and client reporting
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
- Support department and teams as needed.
- Education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar
- 3+ years of domestic surface transportation/trucking coordination
- Experienced with carrier pricing negotiations and client RFQs (i.e. quotations)
- Working experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Oracle, and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and comfortable handling tasks simultaneously
- Adaptable with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline driven department
- This position will not support visa sponsorship or relocation expenses
- While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel paperwork and interact with a computer, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
