They’re looking for a remote 2D Animator based in Ontario (outside the Greater Toronto Area),
Manitoba, or British Columbia
, Canada. The 2D Animator will create high-quality character and asset animation, following established show bibles and style guides. Responsibilities include animating scenes from storyboards, ensuring smooth, expressive motion and strong acting choices. The role involves collaborating closely with production staff to maintain continuity, meet production deadlines, and uphold technical and artistic standards. The animator will also prepare and organize animation files, troubleshoot technical issues within the pipeline, and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and tools.
Description
“Stevie and the Sacred Animals” is a preschool series that blends 2D animation and live action. This heartwarming show follows the adventures of Stevie, a bright and spirited Indigenous (Anishinaabe) girl, who moves from the city to her First Nation community.
Qualifications- Strong animation skills in 2D character and asset animation, with advanced proficiency in Adobe Animate (or equivalent 2D animation tools).
- Experience working from storyboards and animatics, with solid understanding of timing, posing, staging, and visual storytelling.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating, including openness to feedback and clear reporting on task status.
- Relevant education or training in Animation, Media Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience with additional digital tools (e.g., Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop) and familiarity with studio pipelines and file management are preferred.
