- Friday business hours The Human Resources (HR) Specialist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Office.
The HR Specialist works collaboratively with our leadership team and various stakeholders to assist with HR project, policy creation and employee relations experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
Assist with recruitment initiatives and understanding the company needs, objectives and goals through candidate screening and phone interviews, ensure candidate has a valid status to work in Canada/ability to get a valid work permit.
Manage job postings in , on Company Website, and Dayforce.
Coordinate interviews for the leadership team, gathering interview feedback from both the candidate and the hiring manager Perform reference checks.
Participation and execution of our company presence at various career fairs Establish and maintain relationships with colleges to attract talent.
Onboarding/Offboarding:
Draft, review, and coordinate employment contracts for VP and/or Director of HR to review and sign.
Create and modify job descriptions.
Prepare paperwork and schedules for a smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
Coordinate and perform tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information system and audits for accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate with IT to ensure new employees have the equipment needed and their account is set up properly.
Execute the offboarding process for terminated employees.
This includes liaising with IT, Payroll, Finance, and applicable leadership team.
Responsible for ensuring all new hires have signed and provided all documentation required in their first week.
Coordinate and assist the leadership team to manage a robust onboarding process using Dayforce.
Work closely with our immigration consultant in providing accurate documents for LMIA sponsorship application and Provincial Nominee Program.
Performance Management:
Coordinate employee performance management and annual reviews.
Policy and Strategy: lead in the development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures.
Lead HR component of Dayforce HRIS implementation.
Develop understanding of collective bargaining agreement and support in negotiations.
Work with Worksafe consultant to ensure safety is appropriate and return-to-work plans are established as required.
Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of the HR department and company Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.
Updating HR documents and staff records and prepare monthly dashboard turnover reports.
Participate in succession and development initiatives.
Communication and Culture:
Be a key stakeholder and team member that plays a critical role in The Care Group (TCG) culture Advise leadership and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, procedures, team member guidebook, benefits programs, and collective agreements.
Coordinate employee engagement survey and actions feedback the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee/company directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to leadership team and employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relation matters.
Lead change initiatives to enhance company culture and employee engagement.
