Senior Outside Sales Representative – Building Automation
Location:
Coquitlam, BC
Hybrid role: one day a week in the office, four days a week visiting existing and potential customers.
Key Responsibilities- Relationship Management: Establish and develop long‑term personal relationships with prospective accounts to influence future opportunities and ensure customer loyalty.
- Business Development: Actively participate in business development activities within defined customer segments to support and execute the overarching business strategy.
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify and develop new customer contact leads to fuel the sales pipeline for the business development team.
- Bid Management: Identify bid opportunities, prepare comprehensive bid responses, and lead negotiations with potential customers to secure new contracts. Manage the construction database and industry networking.
- Market Presence: Represent the organization at industry trade shows and events to increase brand visibility and influence key decision‑makers.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate with the management team to provide insights and support on prospective target accounts or specific geographic territories.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience as a professional in outside sales or business development
- Travel up to 25%
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor product/service suggestions to specific customer pain points.
- Understanding of the local market landscape and existing industry contacts.
- Experience managing complex bid processes and long‑cycle sales.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align sales activities with broader business objectives.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada.

The expected base salary range for this role is between $89,500.00 CAD - $ CAD annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence.
Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, as well as possible retirement contributions.
May also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive, based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.
