Brief Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician in our British Columbia region. Reporting to the Technical Field Services Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to support project teams and field projects; ultimately providing exceptional client service through repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.
Accountabilities- Repair, terminate and troubleshoot low, medium and high voltage power cables. Installations to include heat shrink, cold shrink and Pfisterer terminations experience is an asset but not required.
- Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in a variety of environments, including commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline and oil and gas experience is an asset but not required.
- Testing and diagnosis of cable health via DC, VLF / Tan Delta and Partial Discharge Test methods experience is an asset but not required.
- Confidently work with various brands of test and troubleshooting equipment experience is an asset but not required.
- Complete technical report writing.
- Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Various other duties as required.
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician designation.
- Hands on experience with electrical maintenance (low to high voltage power).
- Broad knowledge in commercial, industrial and utility environments.
- Trade or technical school certification required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus.
- Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem solving skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent time management skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to remote sites, work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays.
