This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Medical Equipment Repair Service Technician at BC MEDEQUIP Home Health Care Ltd. in Coquitlam, BC. The service technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electronic and/or mechanical components for mobility equipment. A successful candidate in this role will have medical industry experience, including but not limited to: assessing products for warranty, repair, service, placing purchase orders for parts, receiving new and replacing old parts.
The type of equipment you will be working on includes overhead lifts, wheelchairs, power chairs, patient lifts, and more. The company provides the technical training required, if necessary.
This is a team‑centric position, where the Technician needs to engage with coworkers in a respectful, timely, and collaborative manner as needed to ensure equipment is stored, picked, and set up for client safe‑use.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Sometimes visiting client’s homes to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic and/or mechanical components for mobility equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic and/or mechanical components for mobility equipment in‑house
- Ensure medical equipment is repaired and serviced to company standards before it gets back to clients; safety is our priority
- Communicate with customer service staff regarding concerns with the equipment
- Work with manufacturers’ tech support to troubleshoot and identify required parts for repairs
- Work with customer service team to coordinate order processing
- Complete necessary documents in a timely and accurate manner
- Medical home health care field and industry experience is required
- A Criminal Record Check is required
- Drive to provide best‑in‑class service to our partners and customers
- Service Tech experience of 3+ years is an asset
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Mechanical and situational problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, including through electronic devices
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office, Internet, and email
- Technical skills: knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- A strong work ethic and outgoing positive attitude
- Can work independently and solve problems when issues arise
- Work within a team environment and independently
- Pay attention to detail and have organization skills
- Willing to learn and be part of this growing company
