Description
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing skilled journeyman level work which involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of electrical systems. This position operates on a 14/14 rotation schedule, working ten (10)-hour days. The rate for this position is $47.00 an hour, subject to change.
Responsibilities- Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects / deficiencies.
- Conduct timely maintenance services and quality repair of equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials use.
- Provide input into the planned and scheduled work and assist with the completion of the committed schedule.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company standards.
- Assist with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Journeyman Certified Electrician (Red Seal) with a minimum of five years’ experience.
- Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) is considered an asset.
- The ability to work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
- Skilled in the reading and interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations.
- Highly experienced with customer/client/user management in a 24/7 operation with a strong customer focus.
- Abilities to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials.
- Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
- Professional communication skills, oral, and written.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Work well under pressure.
- Effectively solve problems.
- Class 5 licence with a clean driver’s abstract required.
