Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
GFL Environmental is looking for Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians to join our team in Coquitlam, BC! Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, day shift At GFL our goal is to invest in our people and provide opportunities to grow for life! In this role, you'll be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of our fleet of trucks and heavy-duty equipment. You'll ensure our vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community each day.

Including but not limited to:

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, CNG, gas, and electric trucks, as well as related heavy-duty equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document findings
- Complete work orders, order parts, and track repairs in M5 planner
- Use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and complete repairs
- Assist with reviewing mechanical write-ups and scheduling repairs
- Work both independently and as part of a supportive team of technicians
- Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (required)
- Minimum 1 year of post-certification experience (asset if more)
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and follow repair manuals, work orders, and safety procedures
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs., kneel, crawl, and work in varied conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes)
