ABOUTTHE ROLE
Amrize is looking for experienced Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Finishers to join our Construction Division. As a Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Finisher, you will provide support to the concrete crew in completing both Sidewalk and Curb construction. You will be responsible for setting up forms, setting curb string, concrete placing, collecting materials and keeping a clean site.
This is a permanent job opportunity.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH- Check forms for accuracy and alignment prior to concrete placement.
- Direct and assist with the placement of concrete into forms and surfaces.
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power finishing tools.
- Operate power vibrators and other concrete finishing equipment.
- Apply curing and sealing compounds to finished concrete surfaces.
- Set up and dismantle forms for concrete pours.
- Set curb strings and assist with grading and preparation activities.
- Collect materials and maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before commencing work activities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two and a half (2.5) years of experience as a Concrete Finisher; experience finishing concrete sidewalks, curbs, and related structures; experience working in a construction environment.
Travel Requirements: Travel to various job sites may be required.
Language Requirement: English is mandatory

- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment and perform physically demanding work in outdoor construction environments.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
