Overview
Our client is a growing and highly respected engineering firm known for delivering innovative solutions across commercial and infrastructure projects. With a collaborative culture and a strong technical team, the organization values accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in its financial operations. They are now looking for a Senior Accountant
.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $85k - $100k
Responsibilities- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and internal management reports.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Record journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
- Track project costs, revenue, and profitability in coordination with project managers.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Assist with external audits and tax preparation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within engineering, construction, or professional services.
- Strong proficiency in Quick Books (required).
- Hands-on experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of project-based or job cost accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with project accounting or percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Experience partnering with engineers, project managers, or technical teams.
- CPA or CPA-eligible status.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
