Our Client, a large financial investment firm, is seeking an General Partner Accounting Specialist to add to their team in Coral Gables, FL
. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations and reporting for General Partner (GP) entities. The General Partner Accounting Specialist will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial management of GP operations. The role works HYBRID – 3 days in office and 2 days remote with normal M-F flexible hours around 8am-5pm. This role involves no travel, pays in the $100K - $120K range with 10% bonus potential based on experience and includes an ample benefit plan.
The General Partner Accounting Specialist will provide critical support to the accounting and financial reporting activities of the GP entities. The role will also support broader platform initiatives in a cross‑functional environment that rewards forward‑thinking problem solvers who approach their responsibilities with an entrepreneurial mindset. The incumbent will:
- Support GAAP reporting for General Partner Entities.
- Perform GL maintenance
- Conduct Ongoing reporting/maintenance.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Lead the quarterly close process and work closely with corporate accounting to reconcile intercompany balances.
- Review and analyze general ledger activity monthly for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and communicate reconciling items or accounting issues to management.
- Support audit requests and provide documentation to external auditors.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 2+ years experience related to alternative investments in private industry (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, banking, fund administration) AND/OR GP Experience OR public accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a desire to obtain licensure
