Audit Manager | Coral Gables | $120k to $160k + Client Commission

By joining this firm, you'll get proper flexibility, a proper work life balance and the opportunity to build your own practice over time.

That's the trade off here. You can still have ambition, progress and earn well, without giving every evening and weekend to the job.

This is a third generation, family owned CPA firm that's been around since the 70s with around 50 people and seven Partners and Principals. They're recognised as one of the Top 25 CPA firms in South Florida, but they've kept the culture personal and sensible.

There are no mandatory hours and no expectation that busy season means sitting in the office until 10pm. Even around deadlines, people are generally heading home around 6pm, and weekends aren't the norm.

The practice is approximately 75% Audit and 25% Tax, working with privately owned businesses, schools, non Profit organisations and other varied client industries.

As Audit Manager, you'll manage engagements from start to finish, work directly with clients, support and develop the team and have plenty of exposure to the Partner group.

And if you've ever thought about building something of your own, there's room for that too.

Managers and above are encouraged to bring in clients and gradually build their own book within the firm. When you bring a client in, 60% of the profit generated from that client goes to you, ongoing. So to an extent, you get to decide how much additional income you want to generate. Build the client base, grow the relationships, and your earnings grow with it.

There isn't really a ceiling.

You'll also receive 4 to 5 weeks PTO, health insurance, 401(k) and flexibility around hybrid working. This isn't a remote firm, but they're sensible about flexibility and don't treat being in the office as a measure of how committed you are.

They're open to people from both larger and smaller CPA firms, including Big 4 backgrounds.

So if you want to keep progressing, work with good clients, have a life outside work and potentially build your own practice without taking the leap of starting a firm from scratch, this could be a very good move.
