About the Role

The Trading Manager is responsible for leading commercial activities for defined product lines, managing sales and purchase contracts end-to-end, driving profitable third-party sales growth, expanding product diversification, and ensuring smooth trade execution. This role supports strategic growth objectives and operational excellence in trading operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and execute sales and purchase contracts across assigned product lines
  • Collaborate with Operations, Chartering, Legal, Finance, and Strategy teams
  • Support import/export entities in implementing strategies and optimizing international seaborne flows
  • Manage the portfolio of existing customers and suppliers while prospecting new opportunities
  • Monitor and manage trading risks within assigned geography and authority
  • Ensure compliance with internal rules, processes, regulations, and standards
  • Provide business intelligence and market insights to support strategic decisions
  • Promote a culture of safety and adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in trading or related commercial activities
  • Knowledge of the building materials industry, commodity trading, and shipping (dry bulk or containerized)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and teams
  • Diplomatic and politically savvy
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and at least one additional major international language (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic)
