Job SummaryBlack & Veatch’s Government & Communities has an exciting role serving as our Construction Management Practice Leader in the Southern Florida region. We work to provide innovative solutions and integrated planning, design, and construction support to mission‑critical infrastructure. By joining our group, as our Southern Florida Construction Management Practice Leader you will be able to provide infrastructure for community benefit through regulated utilities and government agencies.
The Regional Construction Management Market Leader role is a prominent leadership position that works across our Southern Florida Operations, National Program Management/Construction Management Solutions Group, and our National Construction Operations. This position requires a construction management professional that is a self‑starter with excellent communication skills (oral, written), business acumen, and exceptional inter‑personal skills.
Our Construction Management Team has an extensive resume of current projects to leverage, including marquee projects in water treatment facilities, dams, tunnels, and water conveyance systems. This role includes expanding our Southern Florida region presence, winning new work, driving industry leading CM project performance, and leading and building a best-in-market Construction Management practice.
The overall position objective includes contributing to significant new business growth for Construction Management service offering by strengthening existing client relationships, developing new client relationships, and leading strategy development and implementations of pursuits and capture plans for the region that brings new business into the firm. A key measure of success will be the volume of new business delivered on an annual basis with consistent annual growth.
Other key objectives for this position are:
- Expand our construction management resources in the region.
- Provide construction management practice leadership, construction management and technical support to our Client and Construction Management teams on active contracts.
- Provide direct leadership on CM projects to drive project performance: safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Mentor our construction management staff for professional growth.
- Strengthening our earned revenue and profitability on construction management projects.
- Construction Management staff resourcing and staff management. Coordination with Construction Operations Leaders nationally on construction management staffing and execution doctrines.
- Support national leadership in expanding the construction management tools and resources needed to provide exceptional service to our clients, and bring forth personal experiences and lessons learned to enhance our service offering and execution.
