Program Manager (A) – University of Miami

The Program Manager (A) leads the planning, execution, and delivery of program initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives. The Program Manager supports the daily administration of assigned programs within the department and assists with implementing initiatives effectively. The incumbent focuses on delivering quality programs to university faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders and acts as a point of contact for communication between leadership, faculty, students, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Support the leader with managing assigned program components and preparing documentation and reports.
  • Establish, maintain, and report on program effectiveness, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Assist with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and legislation impacting program functions.
  • Verify, organize, and prepare grants, procurement, and other program‑relevant documents.
  • Coordinate logistics for program events and activities.
  • Partner with other departments and external entities to increase program awareness.
  • Identify new needs and emerging issues and develop innovative programs, initiatives, and resources.
  • Coordinate communication to the broader community through social media and the website.
  • Manage both student and professional staff to ensure that goals and output align with the office mission.
  • Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and assessment for all undergraduate research programs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to visioning, strategic planning, and daily operations of the office in alignment with institutional goals.
  • Direct the planning and execution of UGR‑sponsored events, such as the annual Research, Creativity, and Innovation Forum.
  • Advise students on defining research interests, securing faculty mentors, and applying for internal and external research opportunities and funding.
  • Lead application and selection processes for UGR‑sponsored opportunities, ensuring equitable access and clear communication.
  • Establish systems for ongoing student check‑ins to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and collect data.
  • Serve as co‑advisor to UConnect, assisting with programming, the schools/colleges advisory committee, and supporting any organizational needs.
  • Build and sustain cross‑sector partnerships with schools, research centers, nonprofits to expand opportunities for undergraduate researchers and creative endeavors.
  • Lead multi‑stakeholder initiatives, projects, and grants, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, clear communication, and timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Conduct outreach across UM colleges and departments to assess needs and understand how research and creative endeavors are defined in different disciplines.
  • Identify opportunities for funding or collaboration that advance the office’s mission.
  • Assist with proposal conception, writing, budgeting, and submitting proposals, working with partners to ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting for research initiatives, maintaining student records in accordance with funding agency and university policies.
  • Manage grant budgets, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring accountability and alignment with program goals.
  • Direct strategic communications for digital and print platforms, including newsletters, social media, website, marketing materials, and presentations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the professional and academic requirements for the various health professions.
  • Assist students in initiating a UDR file, coding students in the university system, and providing student access to any resources they may need.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day programmatic operations, including scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, phone calls, walk‑ins, and overseeing student activities.
