The University of Miami, Department of Writing Studies, seeks applicants for part‑time lecturer positions to teach one or two sections of Writing. Duties include teaching Writing Studies courses, which may consist of Writing Center tutoring and First‑year Writing courses. A minimum of one hour per week of office hours per course is required to meet with students.
Responsibilities- Teach one or two sections of Writing Studies.
- Provide in‑person, face‑to‑face instruction for all classes.
- Offer one hour per week of office hours per course.
- Minimum one year of college teaching experience.
- MA or MFA in English (or a relevant field) to teach First‑year Writing or tutor in the Writing Center.
- PhD preferred.
Applications will be reviewed as received. The pool will remain open through the academic year. Applications must be submitted through the Workday portal and include a CV and a cover letter indicating areas of expertise and experience. An appointment or offer is contingent upon student demand, enrollments, and available funding. Final confirmation may not be available until classes begin.
