Job Summary
The University of Miami Department of Theater Arts has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full time Summer Camp Instructor to work in Coral Gables, FL.
ResponsibilitiesThe Instructor provides personalized instruction in the fundamental skills of theatre; designs lesson plans to implement effective curriculum in assigned field; teaches up to 5 one-hour classes daily in assigned field; maintains a safe and orderly classroom; supervises one area of the facilities during the students’ break period, on a rotating basis; participates in the creation, rehearsal, and presentation of the final performance;
takes photos of camp activities and organizes them for future use; prepares the weekly newsletter for distribution to camp participants; prepares social media posts for approval by camp director.
- Teach up to 5 one-hour classes daily in assigned field, including designing lesson plans to implement an effective curriculum. (40%)
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom. (24%)
- Supervise one area of STA facilities during students’ break period, on a rotating basis. (8%)
- Creation, rehearsal, and presentation of final performance in areas of assigned field. (10%)
- Take and organize photos of camp activities. (8%)
- Morning and afternoon parking lot duty as assigned on a rotating basis. (5%)
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the STA director. (5%)
8:30-4:30, M-F, 75 hrs bi-weekly.
Lunch break: 0.5 hr daily.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of college in related field and work related experience.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
