The OpportunityWe are looking for an associate hydrogeologist to support our Supply & Hydrogeology team in Florida. The role includes field and office work, with potential assignments outside Florida and nationally. Responsibilities include water supply evaluations, groundwater production well installation, well testing, injection wells, quantitative hydrogeology, data evaluation, well permit applications, technical specifications, bid documents, schedules, budgets, and report preparation.
Key Responsibilities- Strong organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, graphical)
- Work independently on tasks and projects with limited supervision
- Adhere to internal company health and safety and other processes and policies
- Provide professional hydrogeological support for domestic and potentially international projects
- Understand federal, state, and local regulations and their applications
- Support proposal, work plan, and report deliverables
- Collaborate with project technical leads, project managers, and delivery teams to ensure work products meet client needs
- Evaluate and interpret collected geologic and hydrogeologic data
- Prepare graphical and tabular data summaries
- Prepare presentations to support findings for clients and technical professionals
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure adherence to project specifications and designs
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology, geology, geosystems engineering, or environmental geology
- Field experience with drilling, aquifer testing and analysis, water quality sampling and evaluation
- Subsurface geologic and hydrogeologic evaluations, hydrogeologic conceptualization, and aquifer characterization
- Interpolation of hydrogeologic, hydrostratigraphic, and water quality data
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS or equivalent software
- Functional understanding of Python or other programming languages
- Experience coordinating and overseeing field staff, subcontractors, and project tasks
- Strong communication skills and technical writing abilities
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science or Environmental Science required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in geology, hydrogeology, environmental or geosystems engineering or equivalent.
Certifications- Professional license track toward PE, PG, or equivalent
- HAZWOPER and/or MSHA safety certifications preferred (or able to obtain)
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, performance, and assignments
- Normal office environment with a hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
- Field work may involve extreme cold, heat, hazards, and exposure to chemicals; requires physical abilities such as lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
